G.Redmonds,
in his "History
of the Mallinson Family" has made a tentative claim that the De Fixby*
family
are connected with the derivation of the Mallinson name. This however,
has yet to
be fully confirmed.
I
have included two pages on the site with information
that refers to the de Fixby family. These
pages can be accessed via the DF Archive and DF
Texts.
*Fixby is the modern and
most recognisable form
of the name.
Medieval spellings have taken the form:- Fekesby, Fekisby Fekysby, Fekysbe,
Fykesby, Fakesbi & Fakesby. The most prominent one being Fekesby
The
material on the DF Archive page is displayed
in a tabular format. It is also formatted into two sections,
"Undated" and "Dated".
Each
reference is layed out in the following manner:-
1.
A date where known.
2.
The primary referenced De Fixby.
3. Summaries of the archived documents.
Each summary is provided with a document archive reference.
The
material on the DF Texts page is taken from various
"antique books" and the Manor of Wakefield
Court Rolls.
